Is Gov. Soludo still building a Dual-Carriage way in Nnewi?
So governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo has changed his plans of constructing a standard dual carriage road in Nnewi, for the road leading from Nnewi to Okija.
We learned a particular big man that has many plazas on Owerri road, Nnewi kept on calling and persuading the governor to change the dualization plans, as it will affect his many properties on that road.
Only one side of the road was slightly expanded, while the other side remains the same, and that’s the side the said wealthy man has most of his properties.
What this means is that some demolitions will happen on one side, while the other side remains untouched, despite that many people whose properties were marked on that side have removed their gates, windows, loosed their shops and fences etc.
One of the engineers told us that the road will be narrow within Nnewi, and after Nnewi it will go back to the normal standard dual carriage way.
The question now is
1. What will now happen to those who have destroyed their fences, shops and properties on the other untouched side, because they were marked for the initial standard dualization, which the government is not doing again?
2. Is it fair that the road is now being expanded from one side, while the other side remains untouched just because some wealthy men have found favour with the governor?
3.Will the government compensate those who have destroyed their properties because of the proposed road dualization, only for the road construction not to get to their properties again?
4. Is governor Soludo still building a dual
- carriage way in Nnewi??
