The governance of Otolo is traditionally structured under a monarchy, with the Nwosu family reigning for generations. Within the Nwosu family, a part of the larger Nwakanwa family, Chief Chukwuemeka Ofili Nwosu currently holds the traditional leadership. He succeeded his late father, Chief A.B.C Nwosu, who was a former lawyer and general in the now-deposed Biafran army. Chief Ofili Nwosu has three children with his first wife, Chief Mrs. Ebele Nwosu, namely Prince Nwosu Chukwudumebi Obidimma, Princess Adanna Nwosu (also known as the ADA of Otolo), and Prince Chukwukamso Nwosu, the youngest of the siblings.
