On Sunday, 31st August 2025, the fifth edition of Nnewi Go Laugh, hosted by Comic MC Jaghee, took place at Anaedo Hall in Otolo Nnewi, Anambra State, and it turned out to be nothing short of a massive success. The comedy and entertainment event, which was designed as a way to round off the Afịa-Ọlụ New Yam Festival after the four days of cultural activities, once again reminded everyone that Nnewi is a huge market for laughter, fun, and entertainment.

The hall was completely sold out, filled with an excited audience who came ready to laugh, relax, and enjoy themselves. From the moment the show started until the very end, the atmosphere was alive with cheers, claps, and endless laughter. It was a night that showed just how much the people of Nnewi appreciate quality entertainment, and the crowd proved that the comedy industry has a strong future in the town.

The stage was lit with headline performances from some of the best comedians and entertainers around. Albino Brothers, MC Monica, Professor Onye Egwu, Dibia Highway, MC Ceaser, Koolp, MC Eriwa, and many others took turns to thrill the audience with rib-cracking jokes and engaging acts. Alongside them, many Nnewi-based comedians and skit makers also graced the stage, bringing their fresh energy and creative content to the show. Their presence showed that Nnewi is not only a consumer of entertainment but also a proud producer of talents who can stand tall anywhere in Nigeria.

The success of the event went beyond the performances on stage. The support from the community was also a big highlight. Barrister Tino Chinedu Leonard stood out with a generous donation of ₦1 million, which he transferred immediately to assist MC Jaghee in settling the artists and performers for the night. He also went further to promise that his organization will co-sponsor the next edition of Nnewi Go Laugh in a big way, a gesture that drew loud cheers and appreciation from the audience.

The CEO of MING also threw in massive financial support running into millions of naira, further confirming the love and encouragement that the event enjoys from well-meaning individuals and organizations. Present in the audience was MC Sundown Eriwa, whose presence added extra flavour to the night.

For five editions now, Comic MC Jaghee has remained focused and consistent in his vision of giving Nnewi a homegrown entertainment brand that does not only make people laugh but also serves as a platform to uplift comedians and entertainers from the area. His commitment and passion have pushed Nnewi Go Laugh into becoming one of the most anticipated events in the town. This year’s outing, which was a complete sellout, is a strong testament that he has raised the standard of entertainment in Nnewi to a new level.

The night was a blend of culture, comedy, and community spirit, a reflection of the fact that entertainment in Nnewi has found its own unique identity. The overwhelming turnout, the quality of performances, and the strong support from both individuals and organizations proved that Nnewi Go Laugh is no longer just a comedy show, it has become a proud part of the town’s celebration and an essential conclusion to the Afịa-Ọlụ festival. Indeed, the fifth edition was an epitome of what true comedy should be entertaining, unifying, and unforgettable.
