Chief Donatus Agu Ejidike has extended his goodwill beyond the imagination of man, he has helped the weak and encouraged the poor. He has given hope to the hopeless and put smiles on the face of the dejected.
His humaniterian projects has continued to expand beyond boundaries. He has touched the lives of Nigeria sports men and women, by sponsoring several sporting events, offering scholarships to Nigeria sports men and women while also sponsoring many for international meets, trainings and courses.
Born in Nnewi, Anambra state to the family of Chief & Mrs Agu Ejidike from Agu Ejidike compound Umuezeagu – Uruagu, Nnewi of Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Agu Ejidike had a humble background, a Christian by religion and Igbo by tribe and had to struggle from nothing to succeed in life as he was not born with the proverbial silver spoon.
He had his primary education at St. Mary primary school, Nnewi from 1969 to 1974 before embarking on business apprenticeship. Chief Agu Ejidike, because of his love for education , acquired a Diploma Certificate in Computer in 1998 and the West Africa School Certificate WAEC, from Idofian Grammar School, Idofian, Kwara State, Nigeria in 2003,
His urge and quest for education spurred him to reading literatures and publications as a way of keeping himself abreast with the latest happenings in the world.
His passion for sports did not start yesterday, he was chairman of Kwara state Gymnastics federation between 2008 and 2011 and has won several honours from recognised organisations and well meaning Nigerians because of his selfless service to humanity and his investments in Nigerian youths.
His emergence as Pillar of sports didn’t come as a surprise to many, knowing the huge impact he has made as a key stakeholder.
Only recently, this business mogul, aligned with the vision of the Sports ministry by accepting to adopt one of Nigeria’s athletes in the buildup to the Tokyo Olympic games. Though he is yet to actualise this dream, modalities are already in place to make it a reality.
All these achievements in just under one decade has made him the talk of town especially among the media, as practitioners have started clamoring that the federal government reward him for his steadfastness in the area of youth emancipation, promotion and encouragement.
They have called on the honourable minister of youth and sports, Sunday Dare, to recommend Chief Donatus Ejidike to Mr President for a National award.
As the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic gathers momentum, chief Ejadike has been at the forefront of the struggle expecially among his community men in Nnewi and in his extended home in Kwara state where he has not stopped giving out palliatives to people near and far, as a way of encouraging them to stay safe from this raging pandemic.
He extended his touch of love to the media last Sunday by donating a token to sports journalists on the Nigeria sports mouthpiece NSM, Nigeria number one, sports WhatsApp platform.
He also appealed to members to use the money to buy hand sanitizers, gloves and face masks during this period. He prayed that this too, shall pass away in due course.
