Chief Ofili Nwosu has three children with his first wife, Chief Mrs. Ebele Nwosu, namely Prince Nwosu Chukwudumebi Obidimma, Princess Adanna Nwosu (also known as the ADA of Otolo), and Prince Chukwukamso Nwosu, the youngest of the siblings. These administrative wards, along with the lineage system of administration, have been developed over centuries and continue to be an integral part of Umudim’s governance. The major lineages in Umudim are Ogo, Uru, Umudimnkwa, Umuele, Umuezeokalum, Okpuno-egbu, and Akamili.

The political structure in Nnewi is founded on a confederal system, which has existed since time immemorial and predates British colonial administration. Each quarter has its “OBI,” representing the traditional ruler, but their jurisdiction is limited to their respective quarters. The strength of the political union lies in the principle of “AGBANANO NNEWI,” recognizing the equality of the traditional rulers of all four quarters and the independence of their actions within their communities.
