Nnewi Concerned Citizens Organize Their First Ever Easter SummitTheme:Nnewi, Towards A New Direction
Today being the 11th of April, 2023,a group of Nnewi Concerned Citizens all gathered at the famous Anaedo hall in Otolo Nnewi, to discuss on how to take Nnewi forward.
Prince Ọnwa Nwafor Orizu who was also one of the conveners while speaking during the event, said that Nnewi is a great town and one of the wealthiest and most successful towns in Africa and thus, needs to pay attention to some certain areas that will improve the status and situation of things in the city.
Some of the areas of focus are security, human capital development,scholarship schemes for youths and providing of some other infrastructures that will ensure better human and economic activities in Nnewi.
Senator Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, who is one of the special guests also emphasised on the need for security to improve in Nnewi, so that everyone will start going about the business activities without any form or fear.
Some security equipments like walkie-talkies, security Vehicles, bikes have also been donated by Senator Ifeanyị Ubah for the improvement of security in Nnewi and environs. Nnewi Youths who were deployed to do a test run of the walkie-talkies and other security apparatus gave reports that they’re working perfectly.
It was also revealed that secret cameras have been mounted in different parts of Nnewi,and that’s a step towards the right direction.
Nnewi Concerned Citizens also initiated their plans to start up the building of Nnewi hall and skill acquisition centre in the former NITEL complex at Nnobi road. Nnewi Youths were immediately led by Senator Dr Patrick Ifeanyị Ubah to the NITEL complex from the event and initiated the clearing of the compound in preparation of the project.
The event was indeed a very necessary one in a time like this, and we hope a lot of positive outcomes follow afterwards.
