Nnewi Won’t Accept A Poor And Deadly Road Construction In Their City:A Message To Federal Ministry Of Works

Nnewi People Meet At Igwe Nnewi’s Palace With The Construction Company Currently Carrying Out The Bad And Deadly Road Construction Going On In Nnewi, At Nnewi-Okigwe Road

After we posted a video of a construction company that’s doing a very mediocre and deadly job at a Federal road in Nnewi, Nnewi-Okigwe road precisely, it got many people triggered with a lot of people asking why the federal government will be doing such poor work on a federal road in Nnewi.

The Nnewi-Okigwe road being done by Federal Ministry of Works in Nnewi, Anambra State 

The issue with the construction is that they left the existing drainages, then narrowed the already narrow federal road down even more to construct another drainage that’s much closer to the existing tiny road, instead of expanding the road as continuous urban growth and development requires.

Everyone keeps wondering why the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency or Federal Ministry Of Works will be expanding other Trunk A roads in other states and places to dual carriage and now decide to build a very narrow single carriage on a road linking the commercial, industrial and medical city of Nnewi to Okigwe in Abia state via Imo State. This is also the road that links Nnewi and Onitsha, the two biggest economic hubs in Anambra state.

It even appeared that even the single lane they’re building is wider at Oba and Ichi axis, and the drainages built there are of better quality and depth, compared to the ones they’re doing in Nnewi, especially from Nnewi traffic light axis towards Otolo.

Nnewi people solemly expressed their dissatisfactions to the construction company, and left messages to them to deliver to the Federal Ministry Of Works which is led by Dave Umahi. They also demanded that the construction should stop until the next meeting when the construction company will present the road plan for inspections.
