Tragic Love: The Heartbreaking Story of a Pastor’s Despair in Nnewi

A sad incident has occurred in Nnewi, Anambra State, where a 30-year-old man named Prosper Igboke, who was also a Pastor at a church, lost his life by jumping from a tall building. This building had two floors, like two stacked houses on top of each other.

The reason behind this tragic event was that Prosper Igboke had been feeling very sad and hurt. You see, he was in love with a woman, and he wanted to marry her. They had been in a relationship for some time. Prosper had done something very nice for her – he helped her get an education in the university. But something happened that made him very disappointed.

The woman he loved said “no” when he asked her to marry him. Imagine how that must have felt for Prosper. He had cared for her and helped her so much, but she didn’t want to marry him. This made him feel so sad and frustrated that he took a very extreme step.

Last month, he climbed up to the second floor of a building and then jumped down. This action caused him to lose his life. It’s really surprising and sad that someone who was 30 years old and even a pastor could do something like this.

A family member of Prosper, who didn’t want to be named, shared this information. They said that the incident happened last month and that Prosper was 30 years old when he died. The woman he loved had gone through university because of his help, but she still said “no” to marrying him.

The family member said, “I’m surprised that a man of his age and a pastor could take such a drastic step.” It’s indeed shocking to think that he felt so hopeless.

As per the customs of the Leru autonomous community of Umunneochi LGA in Abia State, where Prosper was from, he will be buried in a forest. This is because his action is considered very wrong according to their tradition.

It’s heartbreaking to know that this young man’s life ended in such a way. We learned that eventually, his body was laid to rest in a secluded area within his own community, far away from where people usually live
