The Royal Connection: Guess what? The Nnewi City International Marathon’s media and organizing teams decided to pay a visit to none other than the esteemed Igwe Dr. K.O.N Orizu III (CON) of Nnewi. Talk about making a grand entrance!

A Royal Chat: This visit was planned by the Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the NCIM’ 2023 to give Igwe Nnewi a heads-up about the upcoming marathon and to seek his blessings – now, that’s royal protocol for you!

Spreading the Marathon Magic: Heading the delegation was the big cheese, Mr. Chibuzo Okonkwo, Managing Director of Maon Homes Ltd. He filled Igwe Nnewi in on their master plan of bringing the marathon right to Nnewi’s doorstep. Mr. Okonkwo also extended his warm wishes for the upcoming ‘Afia Olu’ Nnewi, the town’s new yam festival.

Putting Nnewi on the Map: In the midst of all the chat, Mr. Okonkwo made it crystal clear that the marathon isn’t just about the run; it’s about showcasing Nnewi to the world as a thriving commercial hub in the heart of the South East region of Nigeria. Go, Nnewi, go!

Igwe’s Seal of Approval: Igwe Nnewi was all ears, and he had a lot to say too! He thanked Mr. Okonkwo and his squad for dreaming big and bringing such a prestigious event to Nnewi. In fact, he promised his full support and blessings for a flawless marathon run. Hats off, Igwe!
