Things To Know As An Igbo Person Who Newly Joined Ọdịnala
When you run a check on this people you will see they do nothing themselves.
They break no daily Kolanut.
They do not know their Chi talk more of feeding their Chi.
They have no private or family altars they propitiate.
They have not done jack! And are not ready to do anything. Yet, they believe they have enough knowledge to guide you who is a beginner into not making a mistake they have not ever ventured to make themselves.
I always tell people not to listen to such person. There can be little or no mistake from doing the right thing. A child who is learning to walk that falters regularly is not making a mistake. The falling is an inevitable outcome.
You improve and get better by doing, not by not doing anything. Many people are afraid of making mistake. They want to ensure they get the practical aspect right. They want to feed their Chi right. To do Igo Ofo right. To do certain rituals right so the forces will be happy with them.
Now, let me tell you, the most important right thing is that you are taking the right steps. Once you are doing what needs to be done, you are good to go. Keep on it! With time, experience and your Ezumezu will correct, strengthen and perfect areas they want you to perfect. Please capitalise on the phrase, “with time”.
In the light of the above I say, stop being afraid of getting it right. Our people will say, Onye idedu anaghi ere Ogwu. The fearful one cannot potentiate.
Therefore, it’s worth repeating, stop being afraid of getting it right. And stop listening to Ndi onu onu. Ndi all talk with no feasible action or proof of their commitment, dedication to the practical aspects of Odinani.
Remember, Onye idedu anaghi ere Ogwu!
