Just days earlier, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma also recognised Super Falcons stars from his state, honouring seven Imo-born players with ₦30 million each and land plots in Owerri. Such actions underscore a growing trend of state-level acknowledgment of national sporting heroes.
Governor Alia used the moment to issue a call to action: “Let this inspire other state governments to reward excellence. Investing in our women not only celebrates their achievements, it empowers the next generation to dream bigger.”
