Legendary Kanu Nwankwo, The CEO of United Nigeria Airline Among Others Visit Dame Irene Okwuosa Hospital, As The Hospital Carry Out The First Phase Of Their 2025 Open Heart Surgery Mission

Today the 13th of May, 2025, Sir Emeka Okwuosa the founder of Dame Irene Okwuosa Memorial Hospital and Sir Emeka Okwuosa foundation hosted Prof. Obiora Okonkwo the chief executive officer of United Nigeria airline in his hospital for a tour.

The visit was very necessary, especially during this period that Sir Emeka Okwuosa foundation is on the first phase of their 2025 Open Heart Surgery Mission,of which United Nigeria has always been a partner to the foundation and the hospital on this mission which has consistently been done twice every year for quite some years now.
The purpose of the open heart surgery mission is to carry out heart surgery on patients who have heart issues at a subsidized rate.

Sir Emeka Okwuosa foundation have also been on this mission with VOOM FOUNDATION, their foreign partners.

The former super eagles footballer, legendary Kanu Nwankwo who was the main guest of the day also partook in the tour to see the great things happening in Dame Irene Okwuosa Memorial Hospital,especially the Open Heart Surgery Mission.

Kano Nwankwo is someone that has gone through the challenges of heart failure and successfully came out of it. He understands what it means to battle heart failure. He has since opened Kanu Heart Foundation, where he carters for people’s heart issues and sends those who require heart surgery abroad for treatment.

Kanu was astonished to know that those surgeries he do send people in his foundation abroad to do can now be done in Nigeria, here in Dame Irene Okwuosa Memorial Hospital in Oraifite,Anambra State, with best international standards and practices and even at a more affordable rate.

Sir Emeka Okwuosa foundation looks forward to possible partnership with Kanu heart foundation in giving medical treatments to people in his foundation at their hospital.

Some students of Dame Irene Okwuosa Memorial secondary school, Oraifite were also there to welcome the guests and also presented some gifts to them.
