Tems, Burna Boy, and Ayra Starr Turn Heads at the 2025 Met Gala
The 2025 Met Gala was full of glamour, creativity, and unforgettable moments. Among the stars who caught everyone’s attention were Nigerian music stars Tems, Burna Boy, and Ayra Starr. They proudly represented Africa on one of the world’s biggest fashion stages with bold and unique outfits.

Tems wore a striking outfit designed by British-Ghanaian designer Ozwald Boateng. She looked elegant in a deep blue shirt dress with green designs, paired with a matching tie, hair ribbon, and umbrella. Her look was inspired by Black fashion history and the Harlem Renaissance. While some people online had mixed opinions, many praised Tems for being creative and confident. She showed once again that she’s not afraid to take risks and express herself through fashion.

Burna Boy arrived in a red wool suit with a special cape made from eelskin, also designed by Ozwald Boateng. His look was bold and royal, showing pride in his African roots. The cape symbolized strength and his heritage from the Niger Delta. Burna Boy stood out on the red carpet, blending traditional African elements with modern fashion in a powerful way.
Ayra Starr made her first appearance at the Met Gala with a colorful and well-tailored outfit. Her look showed off her youth, confidence, and unique style. Designed to reflect modern African fashion, her outfit was bold and eye-catching. Even though not everyone loved it, Ayra was praised for being brave and original. She made a strong first impression and was featured on several best-dressed lists.

Although the Met Gala doesn’t give out awards, the presence of Tems, Burna Boy, and Ayra Starr was a big moment for African fashion and culture. They showed the world that African stars are leading the way not just in music, but also in style and creativity.
These three artists continue to shine on the global stage, proudly sharing their heritage and inspiring others with their talent and fashion choices.
